Sustainable development is woven into the fabric of everything they do. From conception to construction, their projects prioritise environmentally-friendly materials, energy efficiency, and minimal ecological impact. Fareham to become one of the greenest multi-res buildings in Melbourne

Fareham is setting a new benchmark for eco-conscious living. Reflecting the commitment to reducing its environmental footprint and operating costs through smart design choices, the project will achieve a minimum 8-Star average NatHERS rating, the highest rating in the St Kilda area. The 73 apartments will be powered by an embedded network that provides 100% renewable energy, including rooftop solar photovoltaic panels. This translates to significantly reduced energy bills and a lighter carbon footprint for residents. Other amenities include secure bike parking, an on-site bicycle workshop, and EV charging capabilities to encourage people to adopt greener modes of transportation.

The Canopy: A Green Oasis

The Canopy’s key theme is nature, which extends from the building’s new park to the residents’ garden at the podium level. A rooftop spa, a barbeque area, and outdoor eating will all be available to residents.

Situated in the Fishermans Bend precinct, the proposed 3,000 square metre Johnson Street Park is intended to pay tribute to the Bunorong people by restoring the biodiversity of the pre-urbanised area. This restoration involves the inclusion of Australian native plants and trees, fostering a family-friendly atmosphere, and promoting well-being and health in residential areas of Melbourne.

The Canopy will also feature dedicated bicycle parking and an EV hub, complete with two electric cars, EV bikes, and scooters available for residents to hire. This initiative is to promote green living and reduce carbon footprint while providing convenient, green transportation options accessible and convenient.

These innovative developments create a blueprint for how to build thoughtfully and holistically while being mindful of impacts. The future lies in this kind of conscientious development.
